"The history of every country shows plainly that the tillers of soil - the landed class - are the best and most valuable of the community whether morally, physically or in results of work."

This is a quotation from the 1904 Encyclopedia of Western Australia, in its description of William Dalgety Moore. His respect for and views of farmers and pastoralists (the landed class) have formed the basis for the W.D.Moore & Co. business philosophy today. More than 100 years later the company continues to focus upon serving its rural customers.

This business philosophy is backed by the dedication and passion that can only come from a family business. The endeavour of this business is to be best at what we do. This is achieved by knowing what the business is about and being able and willing to share this knowledge with our customers.

Change of management ...

One important aspect of family business is that it recognise the need for succession planning. The old generation needs to make way for the new generation. In a move towards having the next generation take over, and to facilitate the carrying forward of the family tradition (and values), there has been a management change.

Over the next few months Geoff will be handing control of the business across to Steve and Richard. Geoff's role will change to that of a mentor, and trainer, while Steve and Richard handle the day to day running of the business.
